Radial Symmetry: 2nd

For this project we introduced the concept of radial symmetry and combined it with circular shapes and organic forms. We also talked about abstract design and came up with ideas on how to work directly with paint instead of doing a pencil drawing first. Students were not so sure about this part at first, but once they got their brush in hand and did the first few lines, the rest was history. I documented this project from day one, as it took them a little bit more than usual to finish it. It was completely worth it to give them the time.

After doing the designs with only black paint on day one, we moved on to using 3 colors only and learned how to plan ahead and leave enough space for the other colors they wanted to use.

One of those projects that I have to thanks
Mr. E for trying first :)

It took them a total of 5 classes to finish the project, as the days passed the works took a completely different aspect and at the end the results were stunning! I will be posting the projects separately very soon...too many, too good, couldn't leave any without a picture. :)
