Summer Camp! (Mixed Projects)

Summer is passing by quickly enough... and a summer camp goes by even faster! Kids are in double excitement, projects are done 10 times faster and pictures are hard to find...that said, here are the few I managed to capture during the whole 4 weeks. Enjoy and Happy Summer!
Paper rolls Owls
The joy of recycled materials! Kids love to discover
what to do with what before was considered trash!
Kandinsky Inspired! Another great little
project found on Pinterest.

Jackson Pollock couldn't stay away!
Kids have too much fun on projects like this one.
Jim Dine Hearts (Inspiration)
This is the example I gave the kids. They loved
working on this one :) Great Pinterest find!

Weaving: 3rd

3rd grade did a little weaving for Mother's Day this year. With this project we introduced the concepts of weaving, and vocabulary as well. We didn't have much time to finish it properly, but we decided to follow Mr. E steps on finishing them with markers patterns. They loved the results anyway, at the end we cut out a circle from construction paper and wrote a message for mom, then pasted it on the back and hang the entire loom by a thread.

Students used templates to cut the shape of the loom
out of cereal boxes. Recycle all the way!

Wavy Fun: 1st

End of year is near, and for 1st grade we decided to do something fun with our name...kids love to use their name in projects, so this turned out to be a perfect end of year project! It gave us a chance to review simple concepts like negative and positive space as well.

Here are some in detail, students worked with markers and crayons, first
tracing their name with sharpies...
